Inspiration Rover phase one celebration day.
In April, we came to the end of phase one of the project. Phase one was designing and building the body of the rover with the young people brought into the Makerspace at the University of Derby by Derbyshire Education Improvement Service.
To celebrate this achievement the young people, university students and educators had a day trip to the National Space Centre in Leicester. We heard a talk by Dr Suzie Imber about her work, her passion for mountaineering and her work on BepiColumbo, which everyone thoroughly enjoyed and found interesting. The young people got to do some experiments with pressure, gravity and temperature. We also got to see the rover in the Space Centre’s Mars environment and to explore the centre.
A very good day was had by all involved.
